How to change your Merchant Category Code  (MCC)

Issue:

This article applies to SAGE Payment Processing using Stripe.  The Merchant Category Codes (MCC) is used to classify merchants and businesses by the type of goods or services provided.  If you need to change your MCC to better reflect your business, follow these instructions.

Solution:

1. Refer to https://www.citibank.com/tts/solutions/commercial_cards/site/docs/dod/mcc_codes_0220.pdf

2. Find the MCC four digit code description that corresponds most accurately to your business.

3. Email support@stripe.com with your request to change your MCC code.
